Structural Engineering

Complete hull scantling design, hull strength, scantling reassessment & structural reinforcement in accordance with classification society requirements. Equipment foundation design, spud design, deck fitting safe work loads, fall arrest/restrain structural design. Proficient in steel & aluminum design including 3-D modeling & analysis of detailed structural assemblies. Structural surveys & failure investigation.

A-17.png

Structural Analysis (both linear and non-linear) using finite element methods in 3-D, including stress, deflection, vibration, buckling & fatigue analysis. FEA optimizes the structural design, adding strength only where it is necessary, minimizing weight of the structure.

Finite Element Analysis

CAPTURE 3_13_2023, 2_55_19 PM.png

Full scale hull performance analysis for non-self-propelled and self-propelled simulations in calm water or waves using 3-D geometry. Hull form & appendage optimization by identifying hydrodynamic inefficiencies using hull pressure distribution, flow streamlines & hull made waves. Predictions for speed, resistance, ship motions, propeller wake fraction & velocity gradient, propeller power/thrust/torque, hull pressure & maneuvering characteristics.

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Using FARO 3-D scanning technology & software, point cloud data & 360 degree color images are captured to produce accurate 3-D representations of scanned spaces.  Scene 2go portable viewing technology allows scanned projects to be viewed in great detail without requiring internet connectivity.  A 3-D scan is an invaluable resource for documenting existing systems & planning for future installations.

3-D Rendering Services

Creating photo-realistic images and videos of concept

designs that include specific docks or locations is a

highly effective method for visualizing ideas before a project reaches the building stage. This approach not

only helps to create a better understanding of the project

for all involved, but it also serves as an invaluable tool for marketing, brainstorming, troubleshooting, and project presentations. 3-D renderings, in particular, offer an

immersive experience that allows stakeholders to fully grasp the scope and potential of a project. With these powerful

visual aids, project teams can collaborate more effectively

and make informed decisions with greater confidence.
